About Us

AMEND, officially the Association for the Mentally Disabled (Regd. Under: Karnataka Societies Act. 1980), began in 1992 when families in Bangalore, overwhelmed by the emotional weight of mental illness, came together seeking understanding, strength, and hope.

Over the years, AMEND has evolved into a supportive community that nurtures emotional well-being, shared learning and collective resilience. Through monthly meetings, guidance, advocacy and connection, we empower families and PwMIs to heal, grow and rediscover dignity and confidence.

Caregiver Support and Meet-ups

Our monthly meet-ups offer caregivers a space to share, learn, and receive emotional support through guided discussions and expert sessions.

We conduct art, wellness, and group activities that help individuals express themselves, build confidence, and strengthen everyday life skills.
