AMEND is committed to facilitating meaningful employment for PMIs, recognizing that work is a crucial component of recovery, dignity, and social reintegration.

We are actively focusing our efforts on finding jobs and placements for PMIs. We firmly believe that work has the most beneficial impact in the recovery process of PMIs.

Corporate Awareness

We begin by educating corporate leaders on mental health conditions, workplace adjustments, and the practical steps required for successful employment. This reduces hesitation, dispels myths, and builds confidence among decision-makers.

Strengths & Deficit Analysis

Every PMI undergoes a personalised assessment to understand their abilities, interests, challenges, and readiness for work. This helps us identify suitable job roles and tailor the support required.

Job Matching

AMEND collaborates with HR teams to match PMIs to roles where they can thrive. Job responsibilities are chosen based on individual strengths, skill sets, and comfort levels, ensuring a meaningful and sustainable placement.

Peer Group Education

We train the coworkers who will interact directly with the PMI. This includes educating them on appropriate behaviours, workplace support, early warning signs, and simple do’s and don’ts to create a healthy, stigma-free environment.

Onboarding Support

Once a role is identified, AMEND guides both the employer and the PMI through the onboarding process. This reduces anxiety, smoothens the transition, and ensures both sides feel prepared and supported.

Progress Tracking

Our work continues after placement. AMEND holds regular meetings with the PMI and supervisors to track work output, consistency, behaviour, and social interactions. Timely interventions help address challenges early and support long-term stability.

Expert Collaboration

Where required, AMEND collaborates with mental health professionals from organisations like NIMHANS to ensure clinical guidance, workplace readiness, and holistic support for the PMI.

Commitment to Success

While placement efforts have historically been done on an informal basis, we are working to develop robust frameworks and processes to ensure minimal time delays in helping PMIs secure a job. We have received an encouraging response from the local Rotarians of Bangalore regarding placement efforts.
